He received detailed information about its key components, such as city surveillance, facial recognition system, intelligent traffic management system, solid waste management, public address system and variable message system, beat mapping, etc.

Municipal Commissioner and CEO of Varanasi Smart City, Himanshu Nagpal, provided the visiting Mayor with information on various ongoing works under the Municipal Corporation and Smart City projects.
Municipal Commissioner Himanshu Nagpal also informed the Mayor that the holy city of Kashi receives a large number of tourists, devotees, and visitors. The Varanasi Municipal Corporation and the entire district administration are continuously striving to provide them with an unforgettable experience.
On this occasion, Municipal Commissioner and CEO, Varanasi Smart City, Himanshu Nagpal, welcomed and felicitated Mayor Vasile Carare by presenting him with a sari, a bouquet, and a memento.
During the 2022 Russo-Ukrainian War, Vasile Carare, Mayor of Milicauti City, Romania, played a key role in assisting stranded Indian students. He converted his city’s sports hall into a temporary shelter, accommodating a total of 1,500 students.
These efforts were part of the Government of India’s ‘Operation Ganga’ mission, under which more than 22,500 Indian nationals (mainly students) were safely repatriated through neighbouring countries like Romania, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Moldova.
