Mamata govt creating hurdles in development schemes, says Modi

Launching a scathing attack on Mamata Banerjee-led government on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the TMC government has disappointed the people of West Bengal and the public now wants BJP.

Speaking at a BJP rally in Krishnanagar, West Bengal, Modi said crime and corruption have flourished under the TMC’s misrule in West Bengal.

”Abki baar BJP sarkar’ and ”400 Paar” slogans, constants of Modi’s speech, also dominated his address.

He said the TMC government was creating hurdles in centrally-launched projects.

Modi was felicitated during a programme and also held a roadshow in Krishnanagar, his second day in West Bengal. There was a massive crowd and he was welcomed with ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Modi Modi’ chants.

He said projects worth Rs 22,000 crore have been launched today, which will help in generating employment and progress.

THe PM said from the infrastructure point of view, railways were a part of the glorious history of West Bengal, but the historical progress that Bengal had achieved could not be utilised properly after independence.

”That is why despite all the possibilities, Bengal remained left behind. In the last 10 years, we have laid a lot of emphasis on the rail infrastructure here to bridge that gap, today our government is spending more than twice as much as before for the rail infrastructure of Bengal..,” he stressed.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate, dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone of several development projects related to sectors like power, rail and road.

Modi on Friday had addressed a public gathering in Aarambagh and hit out at the Mamata government over the Sandeshkhali incident. He said that the people of the state now wanted the BJP to lead the state.
