Jammu and Kashmir: Army’s rescue operation in flood-hit Rajouri saves 11 civilians
Among the 11 rescued persons, five were children. They were stranded at different places in the flood-affected district following incessant rainfall.
Five heavily armed terrorists were killed on Sunday afternoon in an encounter with the security forces in the Kilam area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

The J&K Police, while giving details about the Kulgam encounter that took place on Sunday afternoon, said that the five killed terrorists have been identified as Waseem Ahmad Rather, Aqib Nazir Mir, Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat, Idrees Ahmad Bhat, and Zahid Ahmad Parray.
As per police records, it was a combined group of Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists. Their exact affiliations are being ascertained.

“Incriminating material such as arms & ammunition was recovered from the site of encounter. Pertinently, no collateral damage took place during encounter. Bodies of the killed terrorists were handed over to their families after the completion of medico-legal formalities,” said J&K Police sources.

Following the encounter, clashes erupted at the encounter spot as a large number of stone pelters gathered there to enable the terrorists to escape from the cordon of security forces.
