Jammu and Kashmir: Army’s rescue operation in flood-hit Rajouri saves 11 civilians
Among the 11 rescued persons, five were children. They were stranded at different places in the flood-affected district following incessant rainfall.

Clashes broke out in Tral area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday when an encounter began between security forces and terrorists.
Security forces cordoned the Chankidar area of Tral following the reports of presence of about three terrorists.

The terrorists opened fire at the joint team of Army, CRPF and police when they reached near the house where terrorists were supposedly hiding.

“As the cordon was tightened, the militants opened fire, triggering an encounter,” a police officer said. “Intermittent firing exchanges are going on there.”
Large number of miscreants gathered around the encounter spot and pelted stones at the security forces.
The gunfight was going on, the official said, adding that further details were awaited.
