Jammu and Kashmir: Army’s rescue operation in flood-hit Rajouri saves 11 civilians
Among the 11 rescued persons, five were children. They were stranded at different places in the flood-affected district following incessant rainfall.
A gunfight erupted on Tuesday between the security forces and the militants in Kulgam and Pulwama districts of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

A soldier and two terrorists were killed on Tuesday in the ongoing encounter at Redwani in Kulgam district of South Kashmir.
The soldier was injured in the encounter and later succumbed in hospital. Reports identified the martyred soldier as Prakash Yadav.

Two terrorists have so far been killed and the operation continues as some more militants are believed to be trapped.

Another encounter has broken out between terrorists of Kashmiri version of ISIS and security forces in Reshipora area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Police confirmed the two encounters but said details were awaited.
Reports said that a joint team of army’s 42RR, 180 CRPF and SOG cordoned Reshipora. As the joint team of security forces intensified searches towards suspected spot the hiding militants fired at them triggering an encounter.
Reports said that the house in which terrorists were trapped has caught fire. The trapped terrorists are said to be members of Zakir Musa led group Ansar Ul Ghazwatul Hind.
Meanwhile, another cordon and search operation has been launched in Pinglish area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
