Two terrorists of Pakistan’s ISI backed Al-Badr outfit were on Sunday killed in an encounter with security forces in the Rebban area of Shopian in South Kashmir. No collateral damage took place during the encounter.

Based on a credible input about the presence of terrorists, a cordon and search operation was launched by security forces at the strike of dawn in Rebban area of Zainapora in District Shopian. As the search operation was going on, the search party was fired upon by the hiding terrorists. The fire was retaliated leading to an encounter, said a police officer.

In the ensuing encounter, two terrorists were  killed and the bodies were retrieved from the site of encounter.Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from the site of encounter. Police has registered a case and initiated investigation in the matter.

The killed terrorists have been identified as Nawaz Ahmad Wagay, resident of Rebban Zainapora and Yawar Wani of Batnoor Litter Pulwama. They were affiliated with proscribed terror outfit Al-Badr.

Both the terrorists were involved in a series of terror attacks on security establishments and many other civilian atrocities in the area.
