“Today, an Indigo flight from Medina to Hyderabad made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad Airport. This was because a threatening email about the flight was received at Hyderabad Airport,” Bansal said.

He further informed that investigative agencies, including Hyderabad Police, have launched a probe and that the bomb threat appears to be a hoax. “No suspicious activity by any passenger has been reported yet,” the DCP added.

The development comes amid the ongoing disruptions in IndiGo’s flight operations due to crew shortage and other technical issues.

According to reports, more than 300 IndiGo flights have been cancelled on Thursday due to crew shortage and other reasons, leading to fresh chaos at key airports in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

The disruptions at IndiGo have stranded thousands of travellers for three days in a row. IndiGo, with a domestic market share of over 60 per cent, was forced to cancel around 150 flights across the country yesterday.
