India today unequivocally rejected the “baseless and unfounded allegations” by Pakistan linking New Delhi to a suicide bomb blast in Islamabad.
The MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal also termed it a false narrative by Pakistan to deflect attention from the military-inspired “subversion” and power-grab unfolding in the country, referring to the 27th amendment, which is expected to receive approval Wednesday.
“India unequivocally rejects the baseless and unfounded allegations being made by an obviously delirious Pakistani leadership.

“It is a predictable tactic by Pakistan to concoct false narratives against India in order to deflect the attention of its own public from the ongoing military-inspired constitutional subversion and power-grab unfolding within the country.
“The international community is well aware of the reality and will not be misled by Pakistan’s desperate diversionary ploys,” the MEA spokesperson said.
Earlier, in Islamabad, a deadly suicide blast struck near the District Judicial Complex on Tuesday afternoon, killing 12 people and injuring at least 27 others.
The Pakistan government’s 27th Constitutional Amendment Bill grants sweeping powers to the country’s Army Chief, Asim Munir. Under the constitutional changes passed by the upper house of parliament, Munir will take overall command of the military, and his new position will be Chief of Defence Forces.
The amendment, which was passed by the Senate on Monday, seeks to change Article 243 of the Pakistan constitution.
The bill shifts control from the president and cabinet to the Chief of Defence Forces.
Constitutional cases would no longer be heard by the Supreme Court but by a new Federal Constitutional Court, with judges appointed by the government.
