Heritage bookstore in College St set to open new outlet
Dasgupta, the well-known heritage bookstore in the city, is going to open its outlet in south Kolkata on 1 May.

Allahabad High Court
today issued notice to Minister of State for Mining (Independent charge) Gayatri Prasad Prajapati on a writ petition alleging illegal occupation of gram sabha land.
The Lucknow Bench
of Justice Devi Prasad Singh and Justice Ashwani Kumar Singh passed an order on the writ petition filed by Surendra Kumar alleging that Prajapati was doing illegal plotting of gram sabha land in Hariharpur here, petitioner’s counsel S P Singh Somvanshi said.
The Bench directed the district magistrate, Lucknow, to carry out spot inspection of the land along with other revenue officers, he said.
While fixing 9 September as the next date of hearing the court directed the district magistrate to submit his report on that date, the counsel said.
Mr Singh said the petitioner, while alleging illegal plotting by the minister of 36 bigha gram sabha land, has sought direction to stop it’s sale.
He said the petitioner has also sought direction that if illegal structures have been constructed then it should be demolished.
