In a nation that worships its heroes, few stories are as stirring as those of the soldier-athletes, warriors who not only defend the motherland with unwavering courage, but also bring glory to it with medals on the world stage.
The Indian Army is all set to honour these unsung champions through its evocative digital storytelling series, ‘Kahaniyaan Jeet Se Aage Ki – Beyond Medals and Glory’, all set to be launched on the 79th Independence Day.

At the heart of its first edition is the inspiring journey of Naib Subedar Jaismine Lamboria, who not only stood tall in the boxing ring to claim gold at the 2025 Boxing World Cup in Kazakhstan but also serves with unflinching commitment in uniform. Hailing from Bhiwani in Haryana, Lamboria is all set to represent the country at the World Boxing Championship in Liverpool, scheduled from 04–14 September.
Through powerful personal narratives, the series will bring to light the incredible dual lives of these soldier-athletes, fearless on the battlefield and relentless in the sporting arena, reminding the nation that true victory lies not just in medals, but in the spirit that lies beyond them. “It will cover first-hand accounts and visual narratives of Army athletes, and offer rare insights into the training, challenges, and motivations of these heroes,” said the army spokesperson.
Lamboria was inducted into the Indian Army in the Sports Quota in 2022. A prodigious boxing talent scouted from the Commonwealth Games 2022 where she clinched a bronze medal, the soldier has rapidly risen to become one of India’s elite pugilists.
Representing the nation with distinction at major international arenas, including the Asian Games 2023 and the Paris Olympics 2024, Lamboria’s relentless pursuit of excellence has seen her secure multiple national titles, international podium finishes, and the coveted Best Boxer awards.
In a career marked by grit and consistency, she recently struck gold at the Boxing World Cup 2025 in Kazakhstan and has now earned qualification for the prestigious World Boxing Championship in Liverpool, scheduled from 04–14 September 2025, where she will aim to etch her name in the sport’s history.
In a statement issued here, the army spokesperson stated that the exclusive series will be released on the Indian Army Sports and Adventure social media handles. “It will showcase personal stories of resolve, discipline, and triumph. Each episode will delve into the dual life of these extraordinary individuals as fearless soldiers and elite athletes, representing India on global platforms, from military championships to international sporting events,” said the spokesperson.
The series aims to celebrate the unwavering spirit of the Indian soldier, emphasising the values of perseverance, patriotism, and excellence in every field. It brings to light the dedication, sacrifice and the journeys of the athletes of the Indian Army that make the country proud.
