The protesting farmer leaders on Friday said they will decide on their future course of action with regard to the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march after holding discussions amongst the farm unions, while urging the Punjab government to register a case in connection with the death of a young farmer at the Khanauri border.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced a financial aid of Rs 1 crore to the family of Shubhkaran Singh who died at the Khanauri border and also offered employment to his younger sister.
In a post on ‘X’, he said appropriate legal proceedings will be done against those responsible in this matter.

The Haryana police said they will not invoke provisions of the National Security Act (NSA) on a few farm unions of Ambala district. In a statement, the Ambala police also appealed to the protestors and their leaders to maintain peace and co-operate with the authorities in maintaining law and order.
According to a farmer leader, a 62-year-old farmer who was part of the protest died due to heart attack at Khanauri border.
The farmers’ protest entered the eleventh day on Friday as the protesters continued to camp at the Punjab-Haryana’s Shambhu and Khanauri border points.
The farmer leaders had on Wednesday put the Delhi Chalo on hold for two days and said they would first review the situation in Khanauri and then proceed ahead.
On the other hand, negotiations between the protesters and the Centre have failed to make any headways.
