Rajya Sabha polls: Tarun Chugh named BJP candidate from MP, Ravneet Bittu missing from list
The latest candidate line-up is viewed by political analysts as a calculated move to balance organizational experience with emerging regional equations.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday announced by-poll for the Rajya Sabha seat from Rajasthan vacated by M Venkaiah Naidu on his elevation as Vice President of India in August this year.
The notification will be issued on October 30 and nominations could be filed till November 6.

The voting will be held on November 16 between 9 am to 4 pm. Counting of votes will be done at 5 p.m. the same day and result declared thereafter.

The term of the seat is till July 4, 2022.
Currently, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has majority in the Rajasthan Assembly and the victory of a BJP candidate is a foregone conclusion.
