In his bid to recapture the reins of All India Annna Dravida Munnetra azhagam(AIADMK), the heir apparent of the Mannargudi family, TTV Dinakaran, nephew of V K Sasikala, announced his decision to launch a new party on the 15th of this month.

In a press release to the media, Dinakaran announced that the name and flag of the new party will be announced at the rally to be held at Melur in Madurai, his lucky venue, on 15 March.

In the statement issued to media, Dinakaran made it clear that the event to mark the naming of his political party was in light of the Delhi High Court order to grant him the pressure cooker symbol as he had requested for.

The pressure cooker symbol was allotted to him during the RK Nagar bypolls in December last year. The by-poll, necessitated by the death of the late CM, was won by Dinakaran, who contested as an Independent candidate beating official AIADMK candidate Madhusudanan.

Dinakaran’s new strategy to start his own party, instead of trying to recapture AIADMK for the time being is attributed to the upcoming local body election in Tamil Nadu for which he needs a definite symbol which is being allotted to him by Delhi high court.

But political observers are of the view that Dinakaran definitely is going ahead with the original plan of triggering “sleeper cells” he referred  from the begging itself and this attempt is his plan to prepare for the local body election.

Confirming this, a prominent leader from the EPS-OPS faction on anonymity saidthat”The situation in AIADMK is fluid and everything depends on the outcome of the court verdict in the case related to the disqualification of 18 AIADMK MLAs belongs to TTV faction.”

The verdict is expected at any time as the Madras High Court has already completed the hearing on it. This can be read along with the wordings in the statement which goes like this..

“A political party is needed to retrieve the AIADMK from the clutches of traitors. We need a registered political party to fully retrieve the AIADMK from the present rulers.” Dinakaran has the support of at least 22 MLA, including 18, who were disqualified by the Speaker last August.  With Dinkaran’s announcement of launching a political party the state is witnessing almost a new party every week.

On 21 February , Kamal Haasan launched his Makkal Needhi Maiam in a grand ceremony in Madurai, in the presence of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and AAP leader Somnath Bharti among others.

On 31 December, superstar Rajinikanth too announced the certainty of his political entry in Chennai. The actor, however, is yet to announce the launch of his political party and is currently on a pilgrimage to Himalayas while Kamal is touring state with much fanfare.

It is now a norm in Tamil Nadu that almost every one wanted to fill the political vacuum caused by the demise of Jayalalithaa and withdrawal of  DMK patriarch M
