Congress denounced the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) Prime Minister Narendra Modi for adopting “double standards” in dealing with corruption.

While addressing the public convention at Dangoli, Kuthler assembly constituency in Una district during the third phase of the ‘Hisab de sansad, Jawab de sansad’ campaign, Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee chief Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday slammed Modi on corruption and failure in appointment of Lokpal in the last four years of his government.

He also accused Modi of political corruption in Rafale aircraft deal and questioned his long drawn silence on the issue.

Sukhu questioned the promises made by the Modi to tehpublic of Himachal four years ago ahead of the last Lok Sabha elections in 2014.

He lambasted the BJP government for having failed to address the unemployment issue.

“The Modi government has failed to create two crore jobs every year. Prime Minister and the four Member of Parliament from Himachal have forgotten the promise made to the apple growers of the state to increase the import duty of the apples by three folds,” he charged.

“The BJP has been fully exposed on the issue of corruption, they have failed to bring the black money stashed in foreign banks. Vijay Mallya, Neerav Modi and Lalit Modi are still out of bounds of the government, having fled abroad after defaulting on huge loans,” he charged.

During the third phase of the ‘Hisab de sansad, Jawab de sansad’ campaign, Sukhu said that he will be holding public meetings across the entire state, eyeing the Lok Sabha elections to be held next year.

“The objective of the campaign is also is to strengthen the party, so as to ensure that Congress wins the entire four Lok Sabha constituencies in the state,” he said.
