Bahujan Samaj Party president Mayawati, along with senior leaders of the party’s Bihar unit, including newly elected MLA Satish Yadav, raised concerns over alleged police bias and misuse of FIRs following violence on the vote-counting day, November 14.
The matter was raised during a review meeting held at the Bahujan Samaj Party’s central office in New Delhi recently.

BSP chief Mayawati conveyed these concerns in her statement shared on X on Thursday, urging authorities to ensure justice and fairness in the investigation.
Former UP chief minister Mayawati said that during the counting process in Bihar, vehicles belonging to the BSP MLA and the district administration were vandalised by “anti-social elements associated with rival parties.” Police reportedly conducted a lathi charge later that night to bring the situation under control, during which several BSP workers were said to have been seriously injured.
The BSP alleged that, acting under “government pressure,” the district police have filed FIRs against around 250 identified party workers and nearly 1,000 unidentified persons. The party claims that the police are “harassing only BSP workers” under the cover of these cases, instead of conducting an impartial investigation into the incident.
Demanding a halt to police action, the BSP said that no arrests or coercive steps should be taken until a “proper and unbiased inquiry” is completed.
