The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday held talks with Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati as part of its initiative to promote greater and regular engagement with various stakeholders, including political parties, the poll panel said in a statement.
Reacting sharply to the proposed caste census, Bahujan Samaj Party ( BSP) supremo Mayawati asserted that the interests of the OBCs are safe with the BSP as the party is the true friend of the OBC society.
She said that all the parties should unite and stand with every step of the government regarding the Pahalgam terror attack.
She also directed BSP leader Akash Anand to be encouraged and supported in all ways
The BSP chief appealed to the Central and state governments to immediately stop the injustice-atrocities on Dalits.
Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has launched a sharp attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing it of exploiting Dalits for political gains.
Referring to the celebration of Dr. B R Ambedkar’s birth anniversary by rival parties, the BSP leader called it a pseudo love for vote bank politics.
Mayawati stated, "The mistakes of Akash's father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth, are unforgivable."
"Going forward, I will ensure that I do not consult any relatives or advisors while making political decisions," he added.
The BJP chief called the Congress party’s proposal in the interest of Dalit and backwards unreliable.
