President Ram Nath Kovind on Thursday condoled the loss of lives in the Baghpat boat tragedy and wished “quick recovery” to the rescued.
In a tweet, Kovind said: “Sad to hear about Baghpat boat tragedy. Heartfelt condolences to bereaved families. Wishing quick recovery to those rescued.”
At least 22 people drowned and many others were missing after an overloaded boat capsized in the Yamuna River in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat.

The boat was carrying 60 people and the police and PAC personnel have fished out 22 bodies so far while 10 others have been rescued.
A search is on to trace others.
