“We have arrested Omar Farooq alias Mohammed Aftab Khan from a hideout in India-Nepal border. It is found that he was planning to to sneak into Nepal to escape our jurisdiction,” said a senior officer of STF.

The officer said that the accused had close association with ABT and stayed in a Kolkata hotel for a few days.

The Kolkata police have so far arrested five people with links to the Bangladeshi terror outfit including Aftab this month and seized a quantity of arms and ammunition from them.

The STF arrested the two members of ABT and a local arms dealer on November 21 from a city railway station followed by a Bangladeshi tout last week.
