Slamming the Yogi Adityanath Government over its failure in all fields, Samajwadi Party president and Leader of the Opposition Akhilesh Yadav said the situation in Uttar Pradesh has not improved in the BJP regime and people are facing hardship everywhere.

Describing the budget proposals 2023-24 tabled in the state assembly on February 22 last as directionless, he said that the law and order situation in the state is in a bad shape while the condition of the farmers has become pathetic.

Yadav said the growth rate of the present UP government is 5 percent less than the growth rate of the previous SP government which gives the real picture of the state.

“At least 34 per cent growth rate is needed for making the state an one trillion economy but nothing has been done in this  matter,” he said, suggesting that CM should change his economic advisor rather than spending Rs 200 crores to manage the data. The UP government should tell where we stand in the seventh budget, he asked.

Initiating the debate on budget proposals in the assembly on Tuesday, Yadav said that the Chief Minister claims to bury the mafias in the soil, but first you should give the list, so that the public also knows who the mafias are?

Attacking further on the BJP government, Yadav said  19,000 MoUs  worth Rs 33 lakh crores investments in the GIS were  fake.

“16.8 per cent growth rate was informed by the finance minister in the budget when the average growth rate was just 7.8 per cent when it was 12.8 per cent during the SP government.

The government has failed to explain what are the sources of how to achieve 19% growth, he asked.

Alleging that the state government has failed to utilise the funds sanctioned in the last year’s budget, the SP President said the budget of PWD in 2022-23 was Rs 27,470 crores, but surprisingly only Rs 7570 crore could be spent  so far.

Opposing the Centre’s Agniveer scheme, he questioned ,” When will the government fill the vacant posts in the departments as employment data has dropped between 2017-22 .We socialists can never accept the Agniveer system.”

He said that the Lok Sabha election is a very big election for Uttar Pradesh. “But BJP is making all kinds of conspiracies against the big opposition leaders of the country. By conspiring and using ED and CBI, BJP is trying to influence the Lok Sabha elections 2024. BJP forcibly implicates opposition leaders in fake cases to suppress issues like inflation and unemployment. BJP wants to end democracy but on the other hand the opposition leaders and workers are not afraid of these conspiracies of the BJP.”

Leader of Opposition Akhilesh Yadav said that the state government has claimed only 4 % unemployment rate in the state. “Does this mean that 90 per cent of the unemployed have got employment? Gas cylinders, milk, flour, pulses have all become expensive. People are facing problems due to inflation. BJP has no answer to reduce inflation,” he claimed.

He said that the framers of the state have been cheated, they neither got MSP nor his income doubled. The sugarcane farmer did not even get the due payment. The industrialist who was promoted by the BJP and made it number 2 in the world has gone into a loss of Rs 20 lakh crore. The money of government institutions like LIC and SBI got drowned. Why is the central government not taking action?

On the occasion, the leader of the opposition did not forget to mention the charges of CM Yogi Adityanath charging him that he did not respect his father. “I can only say such a statement should not have been made by a CM in the assembly,” he commented.
