Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the BJP government, alleging that “new mafias” have been created in the state. He claimed that encounter mafia, cough syrup mafia, NEET mafia, and scam mafia have emerged during the government’s tenure.

Speaking to the media in Kanpur on Friday, Akhilesh Yadav said since power generation has not increased in nine years, the electricity being supplied to the state is the result of projects implemented by the previous Samajwadi Party government. He claimed that Kanpur’s image has deteriorated under the BJP government, and that issues of Ganga pollution, corruption, and law and order have tarnished the city’s image.
