Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has spoken up about the latest controversy that sparked after aspiring actress Sri Reddy’s protest against casting couch. The director says she has become a “national celebrity” after resorting to a strip protest in Hyderabad.
RGV tweeted on Sunday and it read,”Sri Reddy has become a national celebrity… People in Mumbai, who don’t even know Pawan Kalyan, are talking about Sri Reddy.”

On 7 April, Sri Reddy stripped naked in front of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce. The actress alleged that she has been sexually assaulted by many producers and directors of the film industry. She claimed that even after applying for membership in the Movie Artists Association (MAA), her application has not been accepted even as she has acted in many films and produced three films.
