The trouble began on Thursday night when short clips from the film started circulating online. By Friday morning, things escalated further. HD versions of the full, unreleased film were allegedly uploaded on piracy websites.

What made the situation worse is that ‘Jana Nayagan’ has not even received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film has reportedly been stuck in clearance issues for nearly three months, already delaying its journey to theatres.
The leak has not gone down well with Vijay’s massive fanbase. Many expressed anger and disappointment online, tagging the production house KVN Productions and demanding strict action against those responsible.
Social media quickly filled with posts calling the leak “unfair,” “heartbreaking,” and “damaging” for what is expected to be a landmark film in Vijay’s career. For many fans, this movie marks the final chapter of Vijay’s acting journey before he steps fully into politics.
Before the leak, ‘Jana Nayagan’ was already struggling with delays. The film was initially planned for a January 9 release, but the plan fell apart after the Central Board of Film Certification reportedly withheld certification.
The reason cited was certain scenes that could affect public sentiment. After a month-long stand-off, the makers agreed to send the film to the revising committee for further review.
Even now, the film has no confirmed release date.
The leak has gained even more attention because ‘Jana Nayagan’ is being promoted as the final film of superstar Thalapathy Vijay before he transitions into full-time politics, including his entry into the Tamil Nadu Assembly election scene.
