From the film set of 'Benz' to the political arena, Raghava Lawrence has made his move. All eyes are now on Trichy East, the seat Vijay won and walked away from.

The spotlight has rarely left Thalapathy Vijay, but in recent weeks it has burned a little brighter, and a lot more personal. From film controversies to headlines about his marriage, the actor-politician has been at the centre of nonstop chatter.
On Saturday, the 51-year-old star finally addressed the storm around him. Speaking at his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’s Women’s Day event in Chennai, Vijay tried to calm worried fans and asked them not to carry the weight of his personal struggles.

A video from the event quickly spread across social media showing him speaking directly to supporters. Instead of ignoring the buzz, Vijay acknowledged the “recent problems” people have been talking about.

But he had a simple message.
Thalapathy Vijay:
Please don’t worry about the recent problems surrounding me. Those issues are not worth your time.. AVOLO WORTH ILLA . I will take care of them myself. What hurts me the most is seeing you feel sad or stressed because of my problems. Please don’t carry that… pic.twitter.com/dnezRxQdMG

“Please don’t worry about the recent problems surrounding me. Those issues are not worth your time. I will take care of them myself,” Vijay said during his speech.
He also admitted that seeing fans upset because of his situation hurts him the most. According to Vijay, their stress over his life is something he does not want.
“What hurts me the most is seeing you feel sad or stressed because of my problems. Please don’t carry that burden for me,” he said urging supporters to focus instead on public welfare and social issues.
Vijay’s remarks come at a time when his personal life has become a hot topic across television debates, gossip columns and social media timelines.
His wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, recently filed a petition seeking divorce after 26 years of marriage. The couple tied the knot in August 1999 and share two children, Jason Sanjay and Divya Shasha.
In her court filing, Sangeetha alleged that Vijay had been involved in extramarital relationship with a female actor. According to the petition, she came to know about alleged relationship in 2021.
The filing triggered intense online speculation and media coverage.
Sangeetha later filed another petition seeking residential protection and financial relief.
She stated in the court documents that she is a citizen of the United Kingdom and currently does not own a residence in India. Because of this, she requested legal permission to either continue living in the couple’s matrimonial home or be provided with alternative accommodation.
The petition also claimed that Vijay had made it clear she would not be allowed to stay in the matrimonial house if she pursued legal separation in court.
