Comedian Siddharth Sagar, who appeared on shows such as ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ and ‘Comedy Classes’, has opened up about the bad phase of his life. Siddharth Sagar’s story came to light after his friend Somi Saxena posted on Facebook about him being missing.

The comedian has now come out and spoken up. In an interview with Indian Express, Siddharth shared how problems cropped up in his life over the years since his parents separated. He said, “My parents separated some 20 years back but we have had a cordial relationship. My mother was my best friend and I never loved or trusted anyone so much. She met this man Suyash Gadgil and I was happy that she found someone in her life. But things only took a turn for the worse.”

Siddharth said that he was depressed but was on wrong drugs throughout. “When I told my parents about it, they said that they have put me on medicines for bipolar disease. I was shell-shocked when I heard about that. I know about bipolar and I didn’t have any of the bipolar symptoms and here my parents were giving me drugs by mixing them in my food,” he said.

Siddharth then got into substance abuse and landed up in a mental asylum, where he was physically assaulted. “I faced the worst moments of my life in the center where they used to mercilessly bash me (breaks down). Four-five people used to bash me up and I would bleed and lose consciously,” quotes Indian Express.

However, he now feels safe with Basheer Qureshi, founder of Asha Ki Kiran, the rehabilitation centre. “I was physically, mentally and emotionally shattered but I am now ready to face the world once again,” says Siddharth Sagar.
