Priya Gupta, who is regarded as one of the most professional authorities from the world of media and entertainment, has resigned as the President (films) of T-Series to start her own production house.

Priya has been a key player in the world of cinema and media for over 25 years and has been associated with some of the most prominent moguls of media like Bombay Times and Bollywood, incuding T-Series.

Confirming the news, Priya said, “I am a woman, a mother and a daughter and deeply respect my motherland. We want to tell stories from our Motherland and make simple films with great Directors, Actors and Technicians that will make us all proud as Indians. Thought of many creative names but settled on Mataram Films. Vande Mataram!!!”

Priya was officially relieved of her duties from T-Series on Thursday (April 19) and on very same day, she announced that she will be launching her own production house.

Just moments after Priya’s announcement, some of the B-Town biggies, including Anupam Kher and Manoj Bajpayee, congratulated the producer for her new innings on Twitter.

The producer is known for conceptualising and creating the high profile brand initiatives like ‘Aman Ki Aasha’, ‘Teach India’ and ‘Lead India’, the latter becoming the first campaign worldwide to receiving the Integrated Grand Prize at the Cannes advertising festival across all brands in the world.

On the work front, Priya has co-produced films like Blackmail, Tumhari Sulu and the upcoming Emraan Hashmi starrer Cheat India in association with T-Series.
