The biopic is based on adult film star and dancer Shakeela Khan who ruled the South film industry at one point of time.

“I’ve watched the original Malayalam film which inspired Billu and many other films in curtain pieces, not entirely. I love Malayalam films. ” Pankaj Tripathi commented.

“They make them so beautifully. Their story telling skills are brilliant. This role is very new to me; I have never done something like this before. I always try that I don’t copy the caricature,” he added.

On the work front, the actor had recently worked on ‘Gurgaon’ and  his dream project, ‘Kaala’, where he shared screen space with superstar Rajinikanth.
