“15th April 2014… this journey started. This show has given me so much… words cannot capture it. I am proud to have been a part of it. So much love and blessings…” she wrote.
Although Supriya had not been actively shooting for the series since 2017, she admitted that ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ always remained close to her heart. “A final goodbye to this beautiful, warm show. I still get compliments for it on film and OTT sets. Shows like these are not made every day; they need love, hard work, emotions, and the goodness of all the team members to truly shine,” she added.
The actress also praised the show’s journey and its audience. “Cheers for ‘Kumkum Bhagya’! It was a well-played innings. We enjoyed every moment of it, and our viewers loved it wholeheartedly,” she said.
She even shared a personal connection with the show’s famous song ‘Allah Waariyan’, saying, “I always thought this song was recorded for the show. Later, my daughters told me it existed before, but for me, it will always be ‘Kumkum Bhagya’’s song.”
For the uninitiated, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ was one of Indian television’s biggest hits, running successfully for 11 years. The show launched on April 15, 2014, and quickly became a household name. It starred Sriti Jha as Pragya, Shabbir Ahluwalia as Abhi, Supriya Shukla, Mrunal Thakur, Arjit Taneja, and others.
The on-screen pair of Pragya and Abhi ruled the hearts of audiences for years, while Mrunal Thakur, who played Pragya’s younger sister Bulbul, later moved to Bollywood.
Over the years, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ earned love not just for its gripping storylines but also for the warmth and chemistry between its characters.
