Ekta Kapoor responds to reports of Shweta Tiwari’s daughter being offered Prerna’s role

Ever since the announcement of a reboot of Ekta Kapoor’s Kasautii Zindagi Kay, the audience has been hooked to updates about the cast and superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s role in the show.

Now there is a new buzz that Erica Fernandes was not the first choice for Prerna’s role. So who was it?

Shweta Tiwari’s daughter Palak Tiwari was reportedly offered the role which she turned down. Ekta Kapoor has, however, denied the reports.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Shweta said, “Yes, I would have told her to go ahead and do it (Prerna’s role). In fact, everybody was saying, even from Balaji that she should do it. It was she who said ‘No Mom, I don’t think I can do a daily soap and work day in and day out. I cannot do that at this point in time’. And not only Kasautii, many other television shows were offered to her, she said no to every show. She said right now I don’t want to do it. Even if I have to do it, then I’ll do it later.”

To which Ekta reacted to the news on one of the Twitter post and wrote, “Aaah reaaaaaly?????????? How come I don’t know.”

People are now interested in finding how this exchange between Ekta and Shweta, who share a sweet bond, turns out.

Meanwhile, Erica Fernandez, Parth Samthaan and Hina Khan have been roped in to play the roles of Prerna, Anurag and Komolika, respectively. The promo of the same will be launched today (September 2) at 3 pm.
