On its third day at the box office, “OMG 2”  continues to exhibit a gradual ascent in earnings, despite its A-certification. The movie garnered an impressive collection of Rs 17.50 crore on Sunday. The movie stars Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam.

Following a hopeful commencement at the box office, the film “OMG 2” has experienced an upswing in its weekend performance. On Sunday, the film had an overall 71.64 percent occupancy with the maximum occupancy for evening shows – 86.72 percent. The film saw the highest occupancy in Mumbai and Chennai with 82.75 percent and 88.75 percent, respectively.

Simultaneously with the release of Sunny Deol’s “Gadar 2” on Friday (August 11), “OMG 2” made its entry into theatres. While “Gadar 2” has asserted its supremacy at the box office since its premiere, “OMG 2” has progressively gained momentum. The opening for the Sunny Deol starrer was robust. It amassed Rs 40.10 crore, whereas “OMG 2” commenced with a more modest Rs 10.26 crore. Nevertheless, “OMG 2” observed an upward trajectory over the weekend, securing Rs 15.3 crore on Saturday and an additional Rs 17.50 crore on Sunday.

Beyond contending with the competition from “Gadar 2,” “OMG 2” also finds itself challenged by Rajnikanth’s “Jailer,” another release on the same Friday. Despite these obstacles, the film is maintaining a commendable performance at the box office. Delving into the realm of sex education with a meaningful message, “OMG 2” has received predominantly positive reviews.

Akshay Kumar visited the cinema halls to meet his audience and interact with them. He mentioned “Kaamal ki baat bataun, pehli adult film hai jo teenagers ke liye bani hai (The funny things is that this is the first adult film for teenagers.)

“They should show this in schools,” he added. The audience is in a continuous urge to remove the A certification of the film to show it to teenagers as well.
