Janhvi Kapoor has opened up about the darker side of fame the endless social media trolling that she and her half-brother Arjun Kapoor face.
In a candid chat with Grazia, Janhvi made it clear that internet opinions don’t rule her world. “From what I understand about social media culture, everyone wants views, virality, and prominence,” she said. Translation: trolls don’t hate you. They just need content.

“If they are making content about you, you’re just a scapegoat. They’re using your name for clickbait, rage bait, and to increase engagement. That’s all you are to them,” Janhvi explained.
Watching Arjun get hit with the troll hammer
Janhvi didn’t stop at herself. She opened up about the trolling her half-brother Arjun Kapoor faces. “Sab ghar chalane ki koshish kar rahe hai (Everyone’s trying to make ends meet). You need to be transactional. Nothing is that deep. It’s stupid to occupy your brain for more than five minutes with this,” she said. But she admitted that it still hurts when trolling crosses the line.
Arjun has had a rough few months on social media. His Instagram posts often became a battlefield, with trolls targeting his acting and films.
Fans noticed the harsh negativity, and many jumped to defend him online. Janhvi’s take? “Negativity fuels negativity. You just have to remove yourself from it.”
Arjun Kapoor recently shared a post where he spoke about how life has been cruel lately, but reassured fans that he’ll be okay. The post was met with an outpouring of support.
