The New York magazine offshoot The Cut recently published an extremely offensive article about actor Priyanka Chopra, accusing her of tricking American singer Nick Jonas into marriage. The write-up was heavily criticised on social media after which the publication had to take it down.
In an interview to Mid Day, the Quantico star’s mother, Madhu Chopra, responded to the piece. “It is a happy phase for our family, and we don’t want to be disturbed by such idiotic things. I am happy that my daughter is married to someone she truly loves. I don’t want to give publicity to those fools. There are some donkeys who do anything they feel like, but their actions don’t affect us,” she said.

Priyanka Chopra tied the knot with Nick Jonas at Umaid Bhawan, Jodhpur, in two ceremonies on December 1 and 2. The celebrity couple got married as per both Hindu and Christian rituals and had a grand celebration.
Meanwhile, Chopra’s mother, who seems to really adore her son-in-law, spoke highly of him. Talking about Nick and the Jonas family, she told DNA, “Nick’s family members are such lovely human beings. They were completely fine with the blend of the cultures and Nick is immensely respectful and well-spoken. He makes sure everyone around him comfortable. He’s the best son-in-law one could ask for.”
The newlyweds hosted their wedding reception on December 4 in Delhi. Priyanka will be having a separate celebration for the film fraternity in Mumbai on a later date.
