Who said Indian films don’t reach Pakistan? Apparently, the new Ranveer Singh spy thriller ‘Dhurandhar’ found a sneaky shortcut straight into Karachi’s bustling Rainbow Centre, a famous hub for pirated movies. YouTuber Karl Rock, who is based in India, recently took social media on a tour of this unexpected film treasure trove, and fans are having a field day.
Walking through the crowded alleys, Karl spotted stacks of DVDs and blurted out in his usual amazed style, “Indian films are banned in Pakistan, but look what I found!”

Yes, you read that right. Despite the official ban, Dhurandhar copies were being sold openly for just PKR 50, roughly ₹16. The shopkeeper confirmed, “Sir, this is an Indian film, Dhurandhar. It has been released recently.”
Karl didn’t just stop at the pirated copy. He took a moment to talk about Ranveer Singh, the film’s lead star, who has Sindhi roots.
“I can tell you a thing or two about Ranveer Singh,” Karl said. He pointed out that the actor’s grandparents originally hailed from Pakistan and migrated to India during the Partition.
Even though Pakistani cinemas have long kept Indian films at bay, ‘Dhurandhar’ isn’t letting geography stop it. After premiering on Netflix on January 30, the movie quickly topped the platform’s Top 10 list not only in India but also in Pakistan.
The espionage drama even made it to the global Top 10 non-English films.
Dhurandhar originally hit Indian theaters on December 5, and the film’s success has been nothing short of explosive. Alongside Ranveer Singh, it boasts a powerhouse cast including Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Rakesh Bedi.
Given the film’s runaway popularity, fans don’t have long to wait. The sequel, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, is already slated for a March 19 release in theaters.
