Akshay Kumar’s upcoming horror-comedy ‘Bhooth Bangla’ now a new release date. Directed by Priyadarshan, the film marks his big reunion with the filmmaker and features a strong ensemble cast.

Akshay Kumar’s return to spooky laughs has hit a small pause, but the excitement around ‘Bhooth Bangla’ is still very much alive. The much-awaited horror-comedy will now arrive a little later than planned.
‘Bhooth Bangla’, which was earlier expected to release in April, has now been pushed to May 15, 2026. The makers officially confirmed the delay on social media sharing fresh posters from the film along with playful caption.

The post read, “Bangle se ek khabar aayi hai! The doors open on 15th May 2026. See you in cinemas #BhoothBangla.”

‘Bhooth Bangla’ marks Akshay Kumar’s return to the horror-comedy space. The film also brings him back together with director Priyadarshan reuniting the duo after nearly 15 years. Their past collaborations are remembered for their humour and mass appeal.
The shooting of ‘Bhooth Bangla’ was completed in May last year, and Akshay himself confirmed it with a cheerful behind-the-scenes video. In the clip, he is seen dancing happily in front of a waterfall dressed casually in joggers and a green shirt.
Sharing the video, Akshay wrote a heartfelt note thanking his collaborators. He called the film his ‘seventh madcap adventure’ with Priyadarshan, praised producer Ektaa Kapoor’s energy, and expressed gratitude for working with Wamiqa Gabbi for the first time.
Apart from Akshay Kumar, ‘Bhooth Bangla’ features an impressive ensemble cast. The film stars Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, Asrani, and Wamiqa Gabbi.
The film has been shot across Rajasthan, Jaipur, and Hyderabad.
‘Bhooth Bangla’ is produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, along with Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films. It is co-produced by Faara Sheikh and Vedant Baali.
The story is written by Akash A Kaushik, while the screenplay is handled by Rohan Shankar, Abilash Nair, and Priyadarshan. Dialogues are also written by Rohan Shankar.
