The ‘Deewar’ connection

‘Deewar: Let’s Bring Our Heroes Home’ released in 2004. It was directed by Milan Luthria and produced by Gaurang Doshi. The film had an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, and Amrita Rao.

The story revolved around a mission to rescue Indian prisoners of war held in Pakistan. It blended patriotism, action, and emotion and gave Amrita an early opportunity to share a film with one of Hindi cinema’s biggest names.

But as she recalled, despite being in the same film, she and Amitabh Bachchan did not have a single scene together.
