This is a special moment for Bobby Deol, who last appeared in the series ‘Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 – Part 2’. That show, directed by Prakash Jha, streamed on Amazon MX Player and had a star cast including Aaditi Pohankar, Darshan Kumaar, Tridha Choudhury, and Esha Gupta.

Recently, Bobby Deol also stepped into Telugu cinema with his debut film ‘Daaku Maharaj’. He starred alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna, Urvashi Rautela, and Pragya Jaiswal in that project, which was directed by Bobby Kolli.

Alongside ‘Bandar’, another Indian film has found a spot at TIFF this year. ‘Homebound’, starring Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor, and Vishal Jethwa, will be screened in the prestigious Gala Presentations category.

Karan Johar announced the news on Instagram, saying, “Extremely thrilled and elated to be a part of this prestigious festival, another time for us at Dharma.”

‘Homebound’ has already made headlines earlier this year when it received a 9-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival. The film, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, tells the story of two childhood friends from a small village in North India. Both are desperate to get a police job, as they believe it will finally give them the respect they’ve always wanted. But as their dream starts to come within reach, the pressure tests their friendship and forces them to make tough choices.

Neeraj Ghaywan described ‘Homebound’ as “a deeply personal story about friendship, dignity, and survival.” He said the film is about people who are usually invisible to the world. And, he hopes audiences will see their struggles with more empathy.

In a major highlight, legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese has come on board as an executive producer for ‘Homebound’.
