B-Town mourns Tom Alter’s death, offers condolences to family

Bollywood celebrities Anil Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Nimrat Kaur paid tributes to veteran theatre, film and television actor Tom Alter, who passed away today at the age of 67.

Alter, who had been battling stage four skin cancer, passed away last night at his residence here.

Rishi tweeted, “RIP. My friend and colleague Tom Alter.

Anil remembered Alter as an all rounder and a person with a heart of gold.

“An all rounder is what he was, with a heart of gold.

Back in the day, I even studied acting under him. You will be missed dearly #TomAlter.”

“RIP Tom Alter… Have the fondest childhood memories of seeing him on Zabaan Sambhal ke…,” Arjun tweeted.

Nimrat wrote, “Waking up to some tragic news about the passing away of Mr Tom Alter. A one of a kind, grace personified, thorough gentleman. #RIPTomAlter.”

Manoj Bajpayee said, “May you rest in peace tom sir!! condolences to his near and dear ones.”

Huma wrote, “So sad to hear about Tom Alter sir… Had the honour of knowing him while doing a play in Delhi. Such a lovely human being. Rest in Peace.”

Athiya Shetty said Alter’s wife Carol taught her English and she had a great time knowing the veteran actor.
