BAFTA-nominated actor Adarsh Gourav, known for consciously choosing high-concept and idea-driven storytelling across Indian and international platforms, believes films like Tu Yaa Main go far beyond conventional acting.

According to the actor, such projects immerse performers into distinct worlds, demanding emotional, physical and creative transformation rather than surface-level performances.

Reflecting on his inclination towards unconventional cinema, Adarsh shared that what excites him most is the clarity of vision behind a script.

“I’ve always been excited by stories that are driven by strong ideas and distinct worlds. High-concept films allow you to explore scale, imagination and emotion at the same time,” he said.
He added that whether it is global shows or Indian films with unconventional narratives, the common thread for him is originality and creative risk.
Speaking about Tu Yaa Main, Adarsh explained why such films stand out in his career. “Films like Tu Yaa Main aren’t just performances, they’re experiences. They push you to evolve, to think differently, and to approach acting with a fresh perspective. That kind of creative growth is very exciting for me,” he said.
The actor also noted that the current phase of his career allows him to collaborate on projects that actively experiment with form, genre and storytelling.
Tu Yaa Main is a survival creature film produced by Aanand L Rai and directed by Bejoy Nambiar, and stars Shanaya Kapoor alongside Adarsh Gourav.
Produced under the banner of Colour Yellow by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma, in association with Vinod Bhanushali and Kamlesh Bhanushali of Bhanushali Studios Limited, the film is rooted in today’s creator-driven culture.

Adarsh Gourav is widely regarded as one of the most versatile actors of his generation, with a body of work spanning films, television and global streaming platforms.
Before transitioning fully into acting, he trained in Hindustani classical music. He began his career as a child artiste and appeared in films such as My Name Is Khan, where he played a younger version of Shah Rukh Khan’s character.

The performance earned him global critical acclaim and nominations at major international awards, including the BAFTA Awards and Golden Globe Awards, making him one of the few Indian actors to receive such recognition.
Adarsh has since appeared in international productions like Apple TV+’s Extrapolations and continues to be admired for his grounded performances and consistent choice of character-driven, high-impact roles.
