The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education( WBBSE) is probing an alleged leak of Physical Science question paper this year from Malda via social media.

Interestingly, last year in a similar manner there were reports of a question paper leak when screen shots of the Physical science question paper was circulated in the same district via social media.

The board had gone to great lengths this year to impose sincere restrictions on mobile phones and teachers, as well, had been instructed to keep their mobile phones locked away, as a precaution.

Moreover, the board had informed that there were specially designed stickers which will enable the authorities to track the exact position and get details in-case of a leak.T

he district convener of Malda had received a call from the teacher-in-charge of Inayatpur High School at around 1:22 pm and informed that Physical Science question paper had been leaked and has been doing the rounds of social media.

The district convener had immediately called up the board authorities after which the mobile phone of the teacher-in-charge was confiscated.

The board president, Kalyanmoy Ganguly denied reports of the leak assuring that their security measures were full-proof but has ordered a probe into the complaint.

“There is no chance of the question paper getting leaked. We had received a call from the district and we will look into the complaint,” Mr Ganguly said.

Sources in the board said the mobile phone of the informant has been taken under custody of the board authorities and he has been asked to meet the board next week where his version will be taken.

On the other hand, four candidates were caught on Saturday with mobile phones inside the exam hall.

Three of these students are from North 24 Parganas and another from Malda district. Their examination was cancelled, the board authorities informed.
