Himachal minister approaches speaker invoking anti-defection law against 3 MLAs
The three MLAs' petition is pending in the high court against the Speaker for not approving their resignation from the State Legislative Assembly.
To boost the tourism and apple industry in the hill state a two day Apple Fest will be organised from 27 September in Shimla.
Shimla Deputy Commissioner Amit Kashyap informed that the apple fest will be organised with full support by the district administration.
Besides, the Tourism Department with close synergy with other departments will also assist to make Himachal apples a brand at the international level, he added.

The Deputy Commissioner said this Apple Fest will be organised at the ancient Gaiety Theatre’s Gothic Hall and the newly constructed Multipurpose Hall of the Town Hall.
“The main attractions of this Apple Fest would be newly developed apple varieties and apple-based products, painting competition, quiz competition, orchard tourism travel and Apple Queen contest. Traditional Himachal cuisine and apple-based bakery products would also be showcased during the two day Apple Fest,” he said.
Local hoteliers will set up food stalls in Daulat Singh Park to popularise local cuisine, said Kashyap.
