The second day of the ongoing Budget Session of Haryana Assembly concluded on Tuesday with ruckus, walkouts and heated arguments between the Treasury Benches and Opposition over the issues pertaining to Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal, Dadupaur-Nalvi canal, Anganwadi workers and other issues relating to farmers.

Pandemonium ensued in the House during Zero Hour when the Opposition parties including the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the Congress sought discussion over these issues, however, Assembly Speaker Kanwarpal Gurjar turned down the Adjournment Motions moved by legislators from Opposition.

The leader of the Opposition, Abhay Singh Chautala strongly objected the move and entered the well-seeking discussion over the SYL canal issue.

Likewise, the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader Kiran Choudhary along with other MLAs from her party sought discussion over the issue raised in the Adjournment Motions moved by them, however, Speaker refused to allow any discussion on the issues saying that the members from Opposition could raise their issues while speaking on Governor’s Address.

Following which, the INLD and the Congress legislators staged separate walkouts and the House witnessed ruckus more than an hour.

The situation worsened further when Chautala engaged himself in a verbal spat with Haryana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Subhash Barala and it resulted into a heated argument between the BJP MLAs and INLD lawmakers.

The Treasury Benches sought an apology from Chautala for insulting Barala, however, the INLD leader refused to do so and ultimately, the Speaker intervened and calm down the leaders from both sides.
