Highlighting the significance of Raksha Bandhan, Delhi Chief Minister on Thursday said that the festival is a symbol of the sacred bond and unshakeable trust between brothers and sisters.
Gupta said that this pious and auspicious occasion reminds us of the duty to protect the values, families, and also society. CM on Thursday celebrated Raksha Bandhan with the children from primary schools run by the Delhi Government, the Central Government, and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

She stated, “It is my first Raksha Bandhan celebration as the Chief Minister of Delhi, and I am truly delighted to celebrate it in the company of children.”
The celebrations were held at the CM’s ‘Seva Sadan,’ where the atmosphere was filled with warmth and joy, as children tied ‘Rakhis’ (sacred thread) on the CM’s wrist, expressing their affection and good wishes.
Gupta distributed gifts to the children and encouraged their spirit and participation in the celebrations. CM added that this emotional bond between brothers and sisters also brings with it a greater responsibility, which is of building a capital city that is safe, clean, green, and truly viksit (developed).
She reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to working tirelessly towards the vision of a developed Delhi.
Extending her heartfelt greetings to the residents of the national capital, CM said, “I pray for the happiness and strength of every sister, and wish success, growth, and a sense of purpose for every brother.”
“Our dream is to build a society where every sister is respected, and every brother embraces his responsibilities,” Gupta said.
