Haryana HM sets 3-month deadline to resolve police complaints
Re-investigation into the complaints should be carried out by the DSPs who haven’t dealt with the case before.
After the Haryana Health Department’s Committee indicted Gurugram’s Fortis Medical and Research Institute (FMRI) of “causing death by negligence” and found violating various prescribed norms, including overcharging for the medical diagnosis, the state government has announced to bring stringent law keeping tab on such laxities.
Haryana Health minister Anil Vij said on Thursday that the state government would soon bring Clinical Establishment Act comprising stringent provisions keeping tab on many such issues.
The minister said that ordinance relating to Clinical Establishment Act would be brought within a week and most of its content would be taken from the Clinical Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Act of Government of India.

Under the fresh guidelines to be framed, private hospitals would have to display prices for diagnosis and packages for various treatments. There would be adequate norms to keep tab on various unethical charges by private hospitals, he added
Decision came after a team of the Health Department indicted Gurugram’s Fortis hospital of “causing death by negligence” of a seven-year-old girl who died of dengue last month as the medical institute failed to follow the protocol of diagnosis and medical duties.
The move comes after a hospital’s negligence led to the death of seven-year-old Adhya Singh, who died on November 14.
