Personalities to be honoured at Kalinga Mahotsav

Padmashree Aruna Mohanty and others address media on Dhauli Kalinga Mahotsav to be held from 9 to 11 February

Padma Vibhushan Sonal Mansingh, will be conferred the Buddha Samman while Dr S K Tamotia, Atulya Mahakud, Guru Dhaneswar Swain, eminent Odissi Mardala Exponent and Bhagirathi Das, renowned Odissi Bastra Karigara will receive the Guru Gangadhar Pradhan Smruti Samman at the famous Dhauli Kalinga Mahotsav to be held from 9 to 11 February this year.

The announcements were made at a pre-event media conference held today by Padmashree Aruna Mohanty, Illeana Chitiristi, Director Tourism Nitin Bhamudas Jawale, Utpal Pati and others Organised at the foothill of ancient Dhauli since the year 2003, The Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav has been able to create an identity for itself and got its due prominence in the cultural map of India.

The festival contains cultural multiplicity and a whole range of diverse stream of performing arts; be it classical, folk or martial. The festival is a unique confluence of more than 500 artistes belonging to various art forms of Indian dance tradition and it celebrates “unity in diversity”.

The Dhauli peace Pagoda as the backdrop of stage inspires the artistes to cherish the idea of love, peace, compassion and humanity.
