Raking up alleged links of Mamata Banerjee with Saradha group chief Sudipta Sen, BJP leader Mukul Roy on Thursday wondered where her painting reportedly bought by the Saradha group at Rs 1.86 lakh has disappeared.

Mr Roy said that Miss Banerjee had been in denial mood when the Saradha scam became public but later several top leaders of her party were arrested for being called beneficiaries.

“When Saradha scam was revealed, Miss Banerjee said that false charges were implicated against TMC’s leaders and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the mastermind to plot this conspiracy. Her statement raised my doubt but later we saw TMC’s leaders and ministers were arrested one by one for their involvement in the multi-crore chit fund scam,” said Mr Roy.

He said Miss Banerjee has murdered democracy of the state by engaging miscreants to cause massive violence during panchayat poll. “We have seen the processions of the bodies following panchayat poll violence. Several were killed as they want to take part in the democracy.

But not single man was killed during the Assembly poll of the Karnataka. Miss Banerjee said that there is a victory of democracy in Karnataka but here she murdered democracy with her own hand. She always maintains a double standard,” said Mr Roy.

Criticising police administration for falsely implicating several Opposition party leaders and workers in criminal cases, he said that Miss Banerjee will face similar consequences in future as people will not keep themselves in silence.

“History will repeat itself and Miss Banerjee has to suffer. Several persons were arrested by slapping false narcotic cases on them or other persons were arrested following fake cases under Arms Act. The innocent people, who were falsely implicated, will rise and act accordingly,” he said.

The state BJP also on Thursday organised several political programme to campaign for BJO candidate Sujit Ghosh. National secretary of the BJP and West Bengal observer Kailash Vijayvargiya addressed public meeting.
