A 47-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a speeding truck on the Salimgarh flyover in the wee hours of Tuesday, the Delhi Police said.
The deceased, Mahender Pal, from Palwal in Haryana, was struck by the truck while he was on his way back home with his family. He was headed from ISBT to ITO when the accident took place.

“Pal was struck by an unidentified vehicle which led to his death,” a senior officer said.

He said an FIR was registered in the case at the I.P. Estate police station under relevant sections of BNS on Tuesday.
According to police, the victim’s car stopped en route around 2 am as one of its tyres got punctured. Pal had stepped out to check the tyre when the truck hit him.
Pal was immediately admitted to AIIMS Trauma Centre where the attending doctors declared him brought dead, the officer mentioned.
Further probing into this case to ascertain the identity of the driver, along with his vehicle, is underway by the cops, the officer stated.
