Housing Board Haryana’s net profit jumps to Rs 51 crore

As a result of various allottee friendly decisions taken in the recent past, the net profit of Housing Board Haryana has jumped to Rs 51 Crore in year 2017-18.

While stating this on Tuesday, chairman of the Board, Jawahar Yadav said the growth in net profit for 2017-18 is about 600 per cent higher as compared to the net profit of Rs 8.7 Crore in year 2015-16.

He said in the last two years, the Board has held draws for 22,575 flats. It has already issued possession letter to 18,000 flats whereas 1000 more possession letters are in the process of being issued.

Yadav said that the efforts made by the officers and officials to mobilise the unsold houses or property of the board at various stations have shown fruitful results. Now, the process of allotment or possession were being completed in time bound manner.

He said that the Board is also going to re-advertise 6,000 ready to move unsold flats at various locations in the state in the month of June 2018 under the new policy of Town and Country Planning Department of the government.

Under this policy, these houses would be refloated for economically weaker sections categories and preference would be given to people belonging to below poverty line (BPL) category. The income limit for applying these houses for economically weaker section (EWS) category would be Rs Three lakh per annum.

The maximum cost of these flats would be upto Rs Six lakh.  He said that the beneficiaries can also take credit link subsidy scheme benefit of 6.5 per cent under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna.

The chairman said that the Board has also issued a new liberal transfer policy for the benefit of allottees, besides framing a policy for condonation of delay in taking possession.
