Haryana to use Dial 100 for reporting fire incidents

To deal with incidents of fire in better way, Haryana government has decided to link reporting of fire incidents with emergency number 100.

Informing this in a meeting of Fire Service Directorate, Urban Local Bodies minister, Kavita Jain, on Wednesday said work is also underway to install wireless communication system in all vehicles used to control fire.

She said te Haryana Fire Service Directorate has decided to take a number of steps including preparation of a master plan to effectively deal with incidents of fire.

The Directorate is also coordinating with Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) to get about 10 acres of land to establish Haryana Fire Fighting Training Centre for training of firemen and fire operators.

The minister said that the number of fire stations would be increased and required equipment would also be purchased. She directed the officers to make online the service of renewal of fire no objection certificate (NOC) for setting up of industrial and other units so that people did not face any inconvenience. She also directed the officers to check all fire stations from time to time and install CCTV cameras in these stations.

It was also informed in the meeting that the multi-storey buildings and organisations in residential and industrial units of Haryana were being given fire NOC after every five years whereas this period is three years for commercial complexes. The applicants would not have to visit municipality office every year.
