Gambhir hails Dhoni as India’s most successful captain
In their heydays, both Gambhir and Dhoni were instrumental in two of India’s three ICC title wins.
BJP MP from East Delhi Gautam Gambhir on Saturday lauded the dedication of the Delhi Police officers and personnel, saying that they deserve the real salute as they find happiness in ensuring festivities and happiness of people during festivals and events by being alert on duty.
He said that the real sacrifices are made by the people in uniform, who also want to be with their families during festivals but to ensure smooth festivities for the people of the country, they deliver their duty with dedication.
Addressing the gathering at the closing ceremony of the Police Family Welfare Society (PFWS) annual sports meet, Gambhir also thanked the police sportspersons who took part saying that sports plays a major role in one’s life which teaches a person how to rise again after falling, it teaches how to win and also how to come back after defeat.

Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, President PFWS Ritu Arora, and international gold medalist in shooting Jaspal Rana were also present on the occasion along with other top officials of the Delhi Police.
The Delhi Police chief appreciated the efforts of the PFWS, saying that it is not only working towards the all-around development of police families but also worked towards the empowerment of the families.
He also thanked Gautam Gambhir and Jaspal Rana for motivating the players.
The guests felicitated the winners of the Sports Meet with trophies and rewarded the runners-up and winning teams.
The PFWS players who have performed exceptionally well in the field of sports at the national and international levels were also felicitated with medals and were also rewarded.
PFWS Annual Sports Meet 2024 ws organized between January 31 to February 2, hosting different sports disciplines.
