Senior BJP leader Vinay P Sahasrabuddhe on Tuesday took charge as president of the prestigious Indian Council for Cultural Relations on Tuesday, saying he would lay emphasis on pursuing the agenda of creating greater understanding about India and its civilisation in the world.
In the changed global scenario, thanks to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, India was taken more seriously as an emerging global power, he said. As a consequence, the role of ICCR also has become more important, he added.
