19-year-old commits suicide in lock-up

A 19-year-old boy who was arrested on the charges of sexually harassing a minor girl, on Tuesday committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling in lock-up of Karawal Nagar police station in East Delhi.

Police said the incident occurred at around 10 a.m, when a constable raised an alarm after he noticed the accused, Deepak was hanging from a ceiling inside the lock-up.

“Deepak was sent to nearby GTB hospital where he was declared brought dead. He was arrested on Monday evening for a case of sexually harassing a minor girl booked against him last year,” said deputy commissioner of police AK Singla.
